Admission Details

Before Admission

Your Surgeon will give you Pre-admission Paperwork, including consent form/s, which must be completed and returned to Corymbia House a week prior to surgery where possible. This assists us in preparation for your visit. Administration staff will advise you of any out of pocket expenses from the Hospital. Nursing Staff will contact you and give you details of Admission and Fasting times as well as confirm a number of Medical details with you prior to Surgery.

Following your Procedure

You will wake up in our Recovery area where you will be monitored by the Medical staff and then served light refreshments before returning home.

On Discharge

Before you go home, you will be given an information sheet which will detail all aspects of your post operative care and follow up doctor appointment if necessary. Please ensure you read the discharge information thoroughly.  A nurse will contact you within 24 hours of discharge to assist with any concerns.
It is recommended that during the first 24 hours following your procedure;

  • You should have a responsible adult stay with you overnight and not be the primary child carer.
  • You should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery.
  • You should not use public transport without an escort.
  • You should not make important decisions or sign important documents.
  • You should not drink any alcohol.

If you have any post-surgery concerns and are unable to contact us out of hours, we advise you to attend the Emergency Department of your closest public hospital.
