Welcome to Corymbia Day Hospital
Corymbia is located in Dandenong, around 30km south-east of the City of Melbourne, in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. It was Victoria’s first purpose-built day surgery, and is named after the flower of the Eucalyptus corymbia ficifolia – a red flowering gum native to the Dandenong area.
With two modern, well-equipped theatres, we combine outstanding surgical facilities, an experienced nursing team and our strong capability in hospital management to put quality patient care first.
At Corymbia Day Hospital we take pride in providing you with personalised care and understanding your individual needs. We understand that attending a hospital can be stressful and that you’ll want to return to the comfort of your home and your regular routine as quickly as possible, while also feeling confident about your recovery. The video below has been made to help you better understand what to expect on your journey through our hospital.
Information on the precautions we are taking regarding the COVID-19 outbreak can be found here.
Corymbia Day Hospital is accredited to the NSQHS Standards.
At Corymbia we don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ care model – individual needs are always considered and we treat each patient with compassion and respect. Our second-to-none quality of care is ensured through outstanding facilities and expert nursing and support teams.

Patient information
We aim to ensure that you are well informed regarding the details of your admission. This is managed in a preadmission phone call, which is usually completed two days prior to the day of your surgery.
This pre admission call assists the team caring for you to understand your social and medical history. You will also be informed if there is any payment required on the day. This is dependent on your level of insurance cover. This is your opportunity to ask questions about your procedure, and we will provide you with fasting instructions and your admission time.

Acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is an important aspect of ending exclusion.
Corymbia Day Hospital acknowledges the Wurundjeri people, the traditional custodians of the land on which our hospital operates, and their elders past, present and future. We acknowledge and respect their continuing culture, and the contribution they make to the life of these regions.
Awareness of the importance of different cultures and acceptance of this diversity as a part of modern Australia is central to the Corymbia Day Hospital culture. This increased acceptance across all aspects of our society is a critical aspect in helping to create a more united Australia.
